Martin’s short story The Cell, was published in Something Else, Scott, Foresman and Co. 1970 and again under the title, The Cage, in Sudden Twists, Jamestown Publishers, 1980. A second short story,Between the Doors, recently appeared in Upstairs at Duroc, an international literary journal published in Paris. Most recently, his work was shortlisted for the 2010 Paris Short Fiction literary prize.
Originally trained in mathematics, Martin has 12 years experience teaching undergraduate and graduate- level courses in Computer Science and has extensive experience in software development in fields ranging from Artificial Intelligence to Operating Systems. American by birth, Martin has lived in France for 22 years and is currently working on a collection of creative non-fiction stories.
